Every year, Walt Disney World in Florida adds more and more to its park offerings and 2019 is looking to be no different, with a whole list of new additions, attractions and shows already confirmed to be joining the line up.

Here are the 10 things I am most looking forward to.

1. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (Opening Fall 2019)

Lets not waste any time here. Its no secret that Star Wars land is due to open towards the back end of 2019 and if you didn't already know that.... what the BB8 have you been doing with your life for the last 2 years?!?

New information has been drip fed out for the last year or so, and we know that there will be a millennium falcon themed ride as well as a second attraction entitled 'Rise of the Resistance'.
Trailers for both can be seen below.

We also have a 'cantina' quick service location confirmed, which will hopefully be more interesting than the royal guard burger at Backlot Express.

We are expecting a lot more details over the coming months, and a sneak preview of the land aired on ABC on Christmas Day.

This 14 acre expansion is sure to blow the minds of all Star Wars fans out there, and although I don't class myself as one of them, I am looking forward to a bit of life being injected back into the studios. And anything that makes the queue shorter on tower of terror is A.O.K with me !

2. Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway (Late Summer 2019)

Taking centre stage in Hollywood Studios, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway will be housed in the Chinese Theatre, where you could previously find the late, Great Movie Ride.

This attraction has been a sore point for many as they mourned the loss of TGMR but I have to say, I am really looking forward to it.

Disney has promised cutting edge technology that hasn't been seen before and refers to the attraction as 2 and a half D with no glasses needed?!

Originally slated for April or May 2019, I am disappointed to report that the railway was recently confirmed to be about a year from completion making it most like to be early fall, with potential soft openings in the late summer of 2019.

3. Rafikis Planet Watch (January/February 2019)

Although this won't be a brand new attraction, Rafiki's Planet Watch was said to be closing permanently a few months back before we shortly after were told that infant this was only temporary and we could expect to see the updated area reopening as early as January 2019.

Im not expecting big things from this update but hopefully some new additions and tweaks will give it the boost it really needs.

Most families overlook this area of the park completely, and thats fine by me and it makes it a great chance to escape the crowds, but it really deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

Who knows, we might see some more animal exhibits or activities, or maybe just a redesign. Either way I cant wait to check it out.

4. Mickey and Minnie's Surprise Celebration (January 18th 2019)

Starting January 18, Mickey and Minnies surprise celebration is said to be bringing  'new music, dancing and all sorts of other fun to Magic Kingdom Park' according to the Disney Parks Blog.

This is still  all pretty loose at the moment but we can expect periodic, limited time entertainment on the likes of Main St USA, and a Mickey and Minnie meet and greet in the town sq theatre where they will be wearing their party outifts.

I also suspect some unique photo pass opportunities will be available and what I am most excited about - Mickey and Minnie themed merchandise and FOOD AND BEVERAGES!! More Mickey shaped food is only a good thing and I am excited to see exactly what this would be, though I am praying for Mickey nuggets like they have in Tokyo

also as part of this we celebration we will welcome the

5. Move It, Shake It, MousekeDance It (January 18th 2019)

Disney dance parties have proved really popular over the last few years. Particularly for those with small children.

They are a fantastic and really organic way for them to meet and interact with characters. Rather than queueing up for ages to spend a few minutes with one, they can simply boogie around the hubs with a variety of characters who can be really quite fun.

This new party coming in January will feature Mickey and Minnie as well as Donald, Daisy, Goofy and more. No doubt the songs will be infectious as ever and will provide a great way for little kids and big kids alike to interact with their favourite characters.

6. Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party (January 18th 2019)

Also starting January 18th over in Animal Kingdom we will be getting a brand new dance party to celebrate the 25th Anniversary on the Lion King.

This one will feature Timon, Rafiki and other disney friends.

Im sure this anniversary will also see a number of unique photo opps, as well and merchandise and entertainment coming to Animal Kingdon early 2019.

7. Disney Skyliner (Fall 2019)

This new gondola transportation system has been one of the most talked about additions throughout 2018 and the construction was clearly evident during my trip this April.

It caused a barrage of news posts when it was announced earlier in the year that these pods won't be fitted with air conditioning... in my experience, you can always trust in what disney decide to do however I really do have concerns about this element of the new transportation system.

No official date has been announced yet but we have been told to expect an opening around fall 2019, which means my dreams for a birds eye view of disney property on my trip in may are definitely not happening. Ill just have to make d with all these artist impressions.

I would assume that Disney will aim to get this up and running smoothly plenty of time before start wars land opens. Hollywood studios is going to be extremely busy when it does and they will need to iron out any issues with this system well ahed of that.

8. Lightning McQueens Racing Academy (Spring 2019)

With all the hype around cars land in Disney California still going strong, it seems disney are trying to capitalise on a bit of this over in Hollywood studios.

This show is set to be unlike anything else we have ever had at Disney World according to imagineer, Kathy Magnum.

It will be housed in the Sunset Showcase building near Rock n Rollercoaster. Don't know where that is? Thats because it is only generally used for special or seasonal events like the club villain party.

Info is very limited at the moment but my guess would be some sort of projection/3D show as there is limited space inside the venue. I could be wrong though.

9. Wonderful World of Animation (May 2019)

A few days after I celebrate my 30th Birthday, Hollywood Studios will be celebrating theirs and I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this new night time projection show will debut as part of this celebration (and met importantly before I fly home on the 11th)

Very little has been said so far about the show but it is perhaps one of the things I am most excited about. It will use state of the art projection technology and is inspired my the last 90 years of animation.

10. We Say Goodbye to Illuminations (Summer 2019)

I can hardly believe this one if I am honest, but I think it is fair to say that Illuminations has had a good run.

As the longest running Disney firework show ever, It probably is time to move on.

There is talk that the new show will be a lot more character orientated. As we have seen over the last 18months or so, Epcot has become more driven by IP's and if it brings people in and gets kids engaged then I think that is only a good thing.

I truly believe that Disney will ensure that Epcot will always keep its technological elements but it could have only lasted a matter of time without something else to encourage families in, so I am completely happy with this new show as well as all the recent additions to the park (sorry Maelstrom).

I won't get to see the new show as it is set to debut late 2019, but this means that I will get chance to say my final goodbyes to Illuminations before it ends in the summer.

Please note that between the closing and opening of the new show in late 2019, there will be a replacement show featuring original Epcot music so you will still be able to enjoy a night time show.
