Fastpass plus is an awesome free tool, that if used correctly can help make your Walt Disney World vacation even more magical and save you a heck of a lot of time.

However, there are a number of attractions that no matter what time of day or year, you are visiting you really don't need to waste a fastpass on.

At the time of writing this, it is almost unheard of to get a fastpass for flight of passage if you aren't staying on Disney property, as you can only book your passes 3 months out. Its still hard even if you are able to book at 6 months.

You won't always be able to get the best fastpasses as referenced in my fastpass guides for each park, but you can still make good choices that will save you time.
I recommend skipping fastpasses for the following:

1. Its a Small World

This quintessential Disney boat ride generally maxes out at 30 mins on a really bad day, but you will generally find it between a walk on and 10 minutes for a large proportion of the day, so even if you are touring with youngsters, I wouldn't bother using a fastpass on this. Save it for Peter Pan instead which you will rarely find under a 60 minute wait.

2. The Seas with Nemo and Friends

This super cute under the sea adventure with Nemo is a constantly loading attraction, so if there is a queue it moves extremely fast, but because the queue area itself is so long you often find it as a walk on (It takes a good couple of minutes to walk through the winding barriers)

I personally would Never waste a fastpass on this, and if it is showing a lengthy wait, there is plenty to do in The Seas nearby until the queue goes down.

3. MuppetVision 3D

Muppetvision is a really underrated how in Hollywood Studios. So underrated that you will never find it with a wait. Shows are about every 10 minutes so that is the longest you will ever wait and because it is a 3D show there is no benefit in getting there early or sitting at the very front.

With the opening of Toy Story Land, and the soon to open Star Wars Land in 2019, there are definitely better things to use your fast passes on.

4. Dumbo

Here's another Magic Kingdom classic you really don't need to fastpass. You will often see dumbo fluctuate massively throughout the day, but it will be at a 10 - 15 minute wait numerous times.

Also, for parents with little ones, there is the option to get a pager whilst your kiddiewinks play in the indoor play zone. A great chance to get out of the heat, or even showers in the summer months!

5. Finding Nemo The Musical

Finding Nemo in Disney's Animal Kingdom is quite possible my favourite stage show in the parks. Its fun for all ages, the music is catchily good and the quality is honestly like a show you would pay good money to see, however it does show numerous times a day and holds around 1500 people per show so I never fastpass it.

The way the show works and the incline in the seating means there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Unless you are wanting to get some really good pictures, (then you would want to sit close), I would save your passes for something else!

6. UP! A Great Bird Adventure

Ok let me start by saying that I used to really enjoy the previous show, flights of wonder. There was a lot of audience interaction where the birds would come to the back of the auditorium and it was educational, interesting and not at all 'naf'.

This new show on the other hand is now more child friendly, but in an overly cheesy way. There ae what seemed to me like way fewer actual birds and there was only really 1 point where a bird flew to the back of the seats.

Also, and this is a little rant, there isn't actually a separate area for Fastpass holders and although we arrived about 20 minutes before he show and when our fastpass was for we found that they were already letting the general population in so it was a complete waste of a fastpass.

I had booked it as it was a new show and I didn't know how busy it would be but I definitely won't be wasting a pass on it again.

7. Mickeys Philharmagic

Now I love love love this attraction. Its a great way to get out of the heat for 15 minutes in Magic Kingdom, and the show is super cute and fun for all ages, but please don't ever fastpass it.

The show lasts 12 minutes and so if you are unlucky enough to just miss the start of one showing, this is the longest you will have to wait. There hasn't been a queue for this ride for years, and the auditorium is so big that even on crowded days you won't need a fastpass.

8. Living with the Land

This ride rarely sees queues of over 10 minutes and is generally a walk on attraction at all times of year.

The entire ride through is about 25 minutes but their is a constant flow of boats and so even if their is a line it is ever moving.

Although this isn't the most child centric attraction, it is extremely educational and shows you a lot of what epcot is about. You can see plants being grown which are used in restaurants throughout WDW and even see some pretty neat scientific developments that disney are working on.

9. Journey Into Imagination

Journey into imagination features one of the parks most loved original characters... Figment!

This super cute kids ride is a must do on every trip but it NEVER needs a fastpass.
Its a bit like an omnimover, which basically means its a constantly moving trail of ride vehicles meaning its load capacity is really high.

This isn't going to thrill you but little kids love it and I have to ride it once a trip from a nostalgic point of view.

10. For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Singalong Celebration

Now this one may come as a surprise, but let me explain.

I had a fastpass for this show on my last trip and to be quite honest, it was a total waste of time.

They do let you in first, but into a sort of holding area where you then congregate with everyone else and by being right at the front, this actually means you have to move all the way across the rows and sit right at the edge.

I personally would rather sit more central and so would suggest arriving 20 mins prior to the show start and trying to base yourself somewhere in the middle of the hoard of people waiting to go in.
