As a manager for one of the biggest names in UK travel I was lucky enough to stay on this ship for her launch weekend, March 19.

As somebody who has never cruised before I wasn't sure what to expect and to say I had some apprehensions would be an understatement.

But I was blown away by Bellissima's beauty, style, service and entertainment offering.

If you have ever considered cruising or perhaps you are a seasoned cruiser who would like to try a new brand of ship, you need to experience Bellissima in her first year.

Life Onboard

Life onboard Bellissima is never dull and always beautiful. I was blown away by the attention to detail on the ship. Everywhere you turn there is something to look at, from wall art to sculptures and even a Swarovski staircase...

Service is second to none, theres not a cocktail those guys on the bars cant make and staff were going out of their way to make everyones experience fantastica!

Bellissima offers a whole host of different cabin styles to suit all budgets. On my trip I stayed in a Balcony cabin but was lucky enough to experience Yacht Club rooms and a duplex suite which would be perfect for a honeymoon or special treat.

All rooms feature MSC's new ZOE intelligence system, which is a smart speaker you can ask questions. It can be set to a number of languages and answers anything from weather to destination info.

All rooms also come with Dorelan mattresses and pillow choice giving you the perfect nights sleep no matter how you like your pillows.

Balcony Cabin

The balcony cabins can be configured as 2 singles or a double.

They have air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower (the website states some have a tub, though I didn't see any), TV, WiFi (chargeable), phone, free minibar and a safe.

I was pleased with the bathroom, which was larger than I had anticipated and the room itself was well laid out and allowed for you to walk around without bumping into things or feeling cramped.

The balcony was nothing to write home about on this one, but i'm sure would be a lovely place to sit with a drink or 3! It wouldn't make for comfortable dining however due to the size.

For me the only thing missing from this room, was a coffee machine or facilities to make a coffee. I called for room service at 6.15am and received my requested cappuccino's, yes I ordered 2 (I need it in a morning) within 6 minutes which is pretty good going given the size of the ship.
If I was travelling for a week or longer though this could get annoying and I feel a bit bad ordering something I could have just done myself had I had the equipment.

Yacht Club Deluxe Suite

The Yacht Club rooms offer premium style and extra benefits such as direct lift access to the spa and thermal suite, robes and slippers and access to the Yacht Club lounge you can see here.

The cabins include everything from a standard cabin but with more Sq Ft and extra amenities including a Nespresso machine, and a fairly large balcony.

Duplex Suite

This was my favourite of all the cabins, set over 2 floors, complete with 2 bathrooms, 2 walk in wardrobes and a jacuzzi out on the terrace, this would make the perfect honeymoon base or cabin for a special occasion.

The sofa on the ground floor also converts into a bed so this could also be used for groups or families who need a little extra space.

Food & Drink

Dining on Bellissima is anything but dull and you could easily eat a different thing every day, but no one is forcing you to.

With 10 restaurants to choose from there is something for everyone.

Main Restaurants

Market Place Buffet

This buffet is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Here you will find lots of Italian influences with fresh baked pizzas, pastas and salads as well as meats, noodles, stews and everything in between.

I was blown away by the sheer generosity of food here. Things like fresh mozzarella and parmesan were in abundance for you to help yourself to and everything was fresh and constantly being refreshed.

Breakfast has pretty much anything you could want, from pastries croissants and breads to bacon and sausage and even pancakes, waffles and fruit.

Lighthouse Restaurant/ Il Cilliegio

The main restaurants on board offer sophisticated style and fine dining without any stuffiness.

You can choose from ever changing menus and fine wines on your choice of First or Second seating (choose when making your booking)

Speciality Restaurants

There are a number of speciality restaurants on board Bellissima to suit a variety of tastes and occasions. These are not included as part of your full board dining but can be bought for a surcharge. There are options to visit just one, but MSC also offers some really good value packages on board which you can see below.

L'atelier Bistrot

If classic French is your thing, then this place is for you. Full of French charm, you could easily be sat in a bistrot down a back alley in Paris!

 Hola! Tapas Bar

Hola! is a restaurant by Ramon Freixa, an acclaimed Spanish chef with restaurants in Madrid.
Here you will find authentic Spanish small plates, meats, cheeses and wines with a laid back atmosphere.

Kaito Sushi/Teppanyaki

Here you can have freshly prepared sushi at the sushi bar or pull up a place at one of the teppanyaki tables where your dinner will be cooked in from of you on the hot plate.

Jean Phillippe Crepes & Gelato

Those with a sweet tooth, need to check out this little spot by award winning pastry chef, Jean Philippe. The gelato is some of the best you will find and with nearly 20 flavours you can have a different one every day of your cruise!

There are bars at what seems like every turn on this ship. One thing is for sure, you will never go thirsty, and there isn't a cocktail that the bar tenders cant make you with a quick shake.

Spirits are predominantly premium and they aren't stingy either! Cocktails are generally free poured from what I saw, so if you are trying to pace yourself you might want to tell them to go easy!

For special occasions or a treat there is the stunning champagne bar which has many top brands to buy as well as traditional snacks and accompaniments.

For a slightly more low key drink, or a taste of home, you can visit masters of the sea. A typical pub style bar with beers and wines.

Bellissima has both indoor and outdoor pools, perfect for cruises during those cooler months

The Aquapark up on the very top deck is a great place for the kids to let of steam and also offers some amazing views of wherever you may be sailing.

Imperial Casino

Carousel Lounge

This is where you will find amazing evening and daytime entertainment including the exclusive to MSC cirque du Soleil shows.

Kids Zone

There are multiple floors dedicated to the kids on board with a mix of games, sports, play zones and interactive options for them to keep busy with.

MSC Aurea Spa/Thermal Area

Bellissima offers an extensive spa area, complete with treatment rooms, sauna, jacuzzi, thermal suites and even a hair salon and barber shop.

You will find top quality products both being used and to buy should you need any.

Should you feel the need to burn off a few of those ice creams from Jean Philippe, you will find a beautiful and fully equipped gym complete with personal trainers on stand by.

So that is pretty much everything MSC Bellissima has to offer. I genuinely think this would be a fantastic first ship for anyone to experience.

She is sailing around the Mediterranean this summer 19 and will be over in Dubai and the emirates winter 2019.
